Growing a Biophilic Living Postgraduate Network
12th June 2026
On the 12th June 2026, postgraduate researchers from Swansea University and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) came together for Project REPAIR's first Biophilic Living Postgraduate Networking Event.
The event welcomed postgraduate researchers whose work directly focuses on biophilic living and nature-based solutions, as well as those with a broader interest in how people, nature, places and communities interact. Participants represented a diverse range of disciplines, reflecting the transdisciplinary approach at the heart of Project REPAIR.
Following an introduction to Project REPAIR, attendees heard about research taking place across the project, including work exploring biodiversity, the performance of biophilic developments, community engagement, and creative approaches to imagining biophilic futures. Human Geography PhD researcher Tatiana Bodnar also shared insights from her own research.
The event provided an opportunity for participants to make new connections, explore shared interests, and discuss how a Biophilic Living Postgraduate Network could develop in the future. Conversations highlighted the value of bringing together different perspectives and creating opportunities for collaboration across disciplines.
We look forward to building on the enthusiasm generated during the event and supporting a growing community of postgraduate researchers interested in biophilic living, nature-based solutions, and more sustainable futures.
